Celebrating the life of
Lyle Charles Myers
August 22, 1961 - September 30, 2024
Lyle Charles Myers passed away on September 30, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 22, 1961 to Leslie & Louise Myers joining his older brother Len, growing up in Otsego, MI. He was a fierce competitor on the field, court and course - ultimately his love of baseball led him to Aquinas College where he set numerous pitching records.
Lyle met his best friend and love of his life, Theresa, and they married on June 2, 1984. Together they had four children who Lyle coached in sports and life. He was passionate about helping others – whether helping aspiring baseball players throw the perfect changeup or grow leaders in the business world. He spent his professional career improving the banking world and ultimately impacting people.
He had a gentle warmth that everyone who met him felt and was truly kind. He was always gracious – constantly thanking everyone around him including the countless medical professionals he encountered over the past year.
Lyle was preceded in death by his mother Louise Myers and stepmother Kathy Myers. Lyle is survived by his father Leslie Myers of Martin, MI; brother Len (Cheryl) Myers of Martin, MI; wife Theresa, his daughter Kaitlin (Stephen) Chitta of Jenison, MI, his son Mitchell (Brooke) Myers of Minneapolis, MN, his daughter Ann (John) Fixari of Columbus, OH, his son Thomas (Katherine DeBettencourt) Myers of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren – Matthew, Grace, Joshua, Samuel, Eddie & Davis and one on the way.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Isabel’s Market + Eatery (310 Blue Star HWY, Douglas, MI 49406). Prayer Service will begin at 10:15am and brunch reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made in memory of Lyle to A Kid Again, an organization close to his heart due to his daughter’s involvement. (www.akidagain.org)
